Randy Dean Laney passed away on August 20, 2024 at St Johns Hospital in Tulsa Ok. after a short illness. He was born on September 15, 1956 in Los Angeles, Ca. to C.Dewayne Laney and A.Joann Laney. He graduated from Memorial Highschool in Joplin, Mo in 1974. After graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and served 4 years as a Hull Technician Welder and Fireman on the USS Thomaston LSD 28.. He then earned an Associates Degree in Welding Engineering from Tulsa Jr. College. He married Shirley Roller on March 6th, 1976 and they had one child Randy Michael Laney. After he got out of the Navy they settled in Tulsa, Ok.

Randy is survived by his wife Shirley Laney and 3 grandchildren Tyler LaPointe, Gage Laney and Alyssa Laney all of Tulsa. He is also survived by 2 sisters Lynn (Mike) Warren of Gardner, Ks and Dena (Brad) Awbrey of Pea Ridge, Ar. He is preceded in death by his son Randy Michael Laney, His parents Dewayne Laney and Joann Laney and his sister Connie Callahan.

Randy spent his working career as a welder in the aerospace and oil field industries. He enjoyed coaching his son Randy on soccer, baseball and wrestling teams. They spent many fun times racing motocross and just riding dirt bikes. He and his son shared a great love for fishing and exchanged daily fishing reports. He spent many hours fishing with his father and son. He loved going to his grandchildren's sporting events and to both grandson's sprint car races. He tried to make sure they always had what they needed. He loved riding his Harley Davidson around town and on trips.

A Memorial service for Randy will be held on Monday August 26th, 2024 at Moore Southlawn Chapel 9350 E. 51st Tulsa, Ok. 74145 at 10.00 AM.
