Obituary

Rex Raymond Radcliff, 89, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Rex was born in Pampa, Texas on April 22, 1937 to Fred and Vera Radcliff. The family moved to Amarillo in 1949 where Rex attended school, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1956. He then attended Amarillo College and the University of Texas where he was a member of Lamba Chi Alpha fraternity and Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity. He completed his BBA at West Texas State University.

Rex worked with his dad at Radcliff Supply Company, becoming president upon his father's retirement and expanding the business to several cities before selling it in 1986. He was an active member of the Southern Industrial Distributor's Association and the American Society of Safety Engineers.

He was a member of several service organizations including the Jaycees, Rotary, Ambucs, and the Amarillo Executive Association. He was a mason in Amarillo Lodge 731, El Paso Scottish Rite as a 32 degree KCCH, Royal Order of Scotland, the Jesters and the Khiva Shrine where he was in the drum corps. He was in the Round Up Club of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, where he also served on the board. He was president of the Better Business Bureau of Amarillo. He was actively involved in the churches he attended, serving as an elder and trustee at Paramount Terrace Christian Church in Amarillo.

He met the love of his life Sheron King in Amarillo, Texas in February of 1964 and they married three months later on June 13, 1964 at First Baptist Church in Amarillo. They cherished 62 years together. Rex and Sheron were blessed with two daughters, Amy and Tiffany.

Rex loved people and never met a stranger. After selling his business in 1986, he worked as a factory rep covering west Texas, New Mexico and western Kansas. One of his customers was selling his gift shop in Old Town Albuquerque, and Rex and Sheron decided to buy it. They lived in Albuquerque for 10 years until relocating to Tulsa in 2006 to be closer to family and grandkids. Rex couldn't sit still, so in his "retirement" he worked part-time as a driver for Enterprise and then worked at Costco passing out samples until he was 87. He was their top sales person and loved his job. He loved the flexibility of his part-time gigs so he and Sheron could travel, cruise, and attend baseball games, soccer games, concerts, recitals, performances and anything else in support of their grandchildren.

Rex indicated that the greatest things in his life were marrying Sheron and having two great daughters. The grandchildren were his biggest blessing and he continued to thank God for

the fact that they were all healthy and good looking like their grandparents. Rex loved all people, a good joke, the Dallas Cowboys, the Oklahoma City Thunder, The Texas Rangers, Tabasco, selling anything and performing his infamous magic act. He was even tempered, had a great sense of humor, was a friend to all, and the nicest man you will ever meet.

Rex is survived by his wife, Sheron; his daughter Amy Radcliff James and husband John of Tulsa, OK; daughter Dr. Tiffany Radcliff and husband Dr. Murray Cote of College Station, TX; grandchildren Jack James, Abby James, Olivia James, Will James, and Natalie Cote.

Private family burial will be at Elk Creek Cemetery in West Plains, Missouri and a celebration of life will be held in Tulsa at a later date. The family requests memorials be made The Scottish Rite for Children or a favorite charity.
