Obituary

Richard F. (Dick) Baker, 86, passed away on November 23, 2017 in Tulsa, OK. Born February 25, 1931 in Tulsa to the late F.W. and Nellie Wells Baker.

Dick graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1949 and from the University of Oklahoma with an engineering degree in 1954. He was a member of the SAE Fraternity at OU. Having attended college on an NROTC scholarship, he served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps, being stationed in Japan and Panama. Dick worked for C-E NatCo (originally National Tank Co.) for 27 years and then for Mylon Jacobs Supply and Vinson Supply. He was an active member of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian, since the early 60's, having served as a Deacon and Elder and in numerous volunteer capacities. Dick also enjoyed serving in various community volunteer activities. He was an avid bird hunter and tennis player for most of his life.

Dick was preceded in death by is parents and sister, Fay Pierce. He is survived by his sister, Sylvia Dalby of Fairhope, AL. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sally Baker, of the home; son, Stan and wife, Jeni of Edmond, OK; daughter, Lesley and husband, Tom Gudgel of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Zack Baker and wife, Ashley of Edmond, OK, Kathryn Baker of Moscow, Idaho, Nick Baker of Edmond, OK, Grant Gudgel and wife, Laure of Brooklyn, NY; Blake and wife, Regan of Falls Church, VA; great-grandchildren Thom and June Gudgel of Brooklyn, NY, Baker Gudgel, of Falls Church, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM on December 1, 2017 at Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Kirk of the Hills Deacon Fund. Condolences may be left online at www.moorefuneral.com . Moore's Southlawn (918) 663-2233
