Richard Dean Blackwell, age 72, resident of Tulsa, passed away December 13, 2021 at Green Country Care Center. Richard was born October 18, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the son of Edwin Leroy "Jack" Blackwell and Lola Maxine Logsdon Blackwell. He was a 1968 graduate of Memorial High School. He enlisted in the US Navy in August 1969, did go to sea on the USS John W. Thomason. He later was honorably discharged for health reasons. He went on to have several jobs, including owning his own trash business and retiring from Russell Electric.

Richard enjoyed music, playing guitar, fishing, OU and TU football and women's softball. He had a good sense of humor and a big heart. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Garland "Sonny" Blackwell and David Blackwell, two sisters Donna Robinson and Lynda Sierman.
Richard is survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
