Obituary

EVANS, Richard W., 88, a retired Presbyterian minister, died Monday, November 24, 2014 in Tulsa, OK.

The elder son of Richard W. and Katherine Gray Evans, Richard was
Born in Racine, WI, on November 30, 1925. A Navy veteran of WWII,
Richard was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, the University
Of Dubuque Theological Seminary, and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, where he earned a Ph.D. in the history of religion. He taught at
the Seminary in Dubuque, IA and at the University of Pittsburgh,
Bradford, PA campus. He served pastorates in New York state, Pennsylvania, and Oklahoma.

In July, 1950, he was married to Helen Lloyd Evans in Cambria, WI.
Helen died on April 5, 2011, after 61years of marriage. He also is
preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, R. Gray Evans.
Survivors include three children: Dilys Evans, Tulsa, R. Gareth Evans and his wife, Nancy, Bradford, PA, and Owen Evans and his wife, Lori and
two grandchildren, Megan Forehand and her husband, Josh, Tulsa, and Bryn Evans and his friend, Katie Wells of Littleton, CO.

Family suggests that a contribution in memory of Richard may be sent to
Neighbors Along The Line, 5000 Charles Page Blvd., Tulsa, OK 74127,
a community service agency which was begun by John Knox Presbyterian
