Richard William Fulton, age 87, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, June 21st. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 8, 1928 the eldest son of Howard W. Fulton and Elva Mae Christison. Known as "Dick" to friends, he grew up in Berwyn, Illinois. As a boy he played the piano and danced but gave it up to follow his love of sports. Besides his children and family his passion was baseball and most of all the Chicago Cubs. Dick was a catcher on the Morton High School baseball team and as a teenager received a minor league professional baseball contract offer from the Chicago White Sox. He never played professional baseball, but the game and the Chicago Cubs remained a lifelong passion. Dick married Daisy C. Nelson of Franklin Park, Ill. In 1949 and they had three children, Richard, Thomas, and Jane. Dick went to work in Chicago in sales for Continental Can Company and worked for them for 40 years. In 1962 he moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take an Account Manager's position. Divorced in 1970, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and in 1972 married Jerri Spahr. They spent 38 years together until Jerri's passing in 2010.
Dick is survived by his son Richard S. Fulton of Flower Mound, TX., granddaughter Elizabeth Fulton and her two daughters Maya and Chaney Fulton of Little Rock and grandson Richard William Fulton II of Lewisville, TX.; son Thomas W. Fulton of Knoxville, TN., and his wife Linda and grandsons Kyle W. Fulton and Adam Fulton; daughter Jane Ellingsworth of Plainfield, IL. and her husband Richard; and brother Wes (Teensie) Fulton and his wife Evie of Arlington Heights, IL., and nephews David and Jonathan and niece Susan and their families.
