Richard G. Loken passed away peacefully on July 6, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 78. He was born on February 22, 1935 to Webster and Eleanor Loken in Windom, Minnesota. A graduate from Windom High School in 1953, he completed his education at South Dakota State University in Brookings, graduating with a Master's Degree in Journalism. Richard married Mavis Weiland in Windom on June 1, 1956. He served two years in the U.S. Army. Richard was an executive with McGraw-Hill Companies until his retirement 2000. Richard is survived by his wife Mavis, sons Dr. Tom Loken and wife Bernadette of Muskogee, OK, David Loken of Tulsa, and two granddaughters, Michelle of Moundsville, West Virginia and Katherine Loken attending the University of Central Oklahoma. In retirement, Richard enjoyed reading, genealogy and spending time with family. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Oklahoma Methodist Manor in Tulsa.
