Our dear Ricky left this earth on October 25, 2023. That day, the clouds lifted, and his father was there to welcome him to heaven. Ricky was a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, and our hero.
Richard Stanton McDaniel was born on June 16, 1988, to Rick and Cindy in Tulsa. Ricky graduated from Memorial High School and studied at Rogers State College in Claremore.
After graduating with a degree as an EMT, Ricky became a member of the Tulsa Fire Department. Ricky considered it an honor to be a part of the amazing group of heroes at TFD. Ricky was gifted with compassion and kindness for those he served in his community. In 2016, Ricky was medically retired from the fire department.
Ricky had a strong passion for sports, playing soccer at age 4. Ricky played with many great teams, including Focus 88, winning the Youth World Cup, the Memorial Chargers, and Rogers State Hillcats.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Richard (Rick) McDaniel, grandfathers Gene McDaniel and Dr. Bob Jones; grandmothers Lucy McDaniel and Beverly "B" Jones; and his uncles, Jeff McDaniel and Glenwood (Woody) LaFiette. Ricky is survived by his mother, Cynthia (Cindy) Jones-Becerra; his honorary mother Jennifer (Wer) Sinnett; his siblings Dani McDaniel (Thomas), Adrienne (A) Preston (Ryan), William (Will) Beams (Sheena), Ashley Rudolph (John), and Joseph (Joey) Becerra; his nieces and nephews, Alexi, Lilly, Jordan, Jasper, Olivia, and Izzy as well as many extended family members.
A celebration of Ricky's life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st in Tulsa. This is an opportunity for Ricky's family and friends to pay tribute to his life while saying goodbye until we see him again. Casual dress is encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to suicide prevention to pay honor to the service of first responders who died by suicide.
