A. Richard (Dick) Nichols, Jr., age 90, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 22, 2021. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and dear friend. Dick was born on December 20, 1930 in Waterbury, Connecticut to parents Mildred and A. Richard Nichols, Sr. His family moved to Oak Park, Illinois where Dick spent his childhood. He graduated from Oak Park High School in 1948, attended Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin, graduating with a BA in Business in 1952. Dick worked for Mobil Oil Corp. and then went on to work 33 years for Cities Service/OXY Petroleum as a credit manager in WI, IL and OK before retiring in 1989. He is survived by his wife Martha E. Nichols, Tulsa, OK; daughter Nancy McKay, husband Mark, Broken Arrow, OK; son David Nichols, wife Kim, Broken Arrow, OK; granddaughter Kristin Nichols, husband Allen Ream, Highlands Ranch, CO; stepdaughter Pam Graddy, husband Michael, Tulsa, OK; stepson David Everett, wife Fran, Mesa, AZ; grandson Jack Graddy, wife Lauren, great grandchild Kennedy, Tulsa, OK; granddaughter Jill Graddy, Tulsa, OK; grandson Josh VanMeter, wife Mary E., great grandchildren Mary Frances, George, Veronica, Fort Worth, TX; Jeremy Everett, wife Laurinda, great grandchildren Cameron, Leah, Austin, Fredericksburg, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents and former wife, Margaret (Peggy) Nichols.
Dick was a member of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church, Tulsa Men's Club and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 5th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, OK
Funeral services will take place Friday, August 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 4102 E. 61st Street, Tulsa, OK.
