Richard (Dick) Voris, 86, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 with his daughters by his side. Dick was born February 27, 1928 in Davenport, IA. He graduated from Augustana college in 1950 with a degree in geology and completed graduate school at the University of Iowa in 1952. He married the former Anna Faye (Ann) Thrash of Hope, AR in 1956. He began working as a geologist for Carter Oil Company in Ardmore, OK and Exxon in Oklahoma City, OK and Midland, TX. He joined Helmerich and Payne in Tulsa, OK in 1974. Dick enjoyed playing tennis, jogging, traveling and being with his friends and family. He was an active member of the Presbyterian church (College Hill Presbyterian and First Presbyterian) all his life and also enjoyed attending First Baptist Church with his wife. He will be best remembered for his zest for life and his selfless interest and caring for others.
The family is especially grateful for the care and concern shown by the staff of Montereau and the Body of Christ throughout these days.
Dick is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Brown (Wayne) of Colorado Springs, CO and Susan Atkinson (Chuck) of Arkadelphia, AR; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and many other extended family members. He is preceded in death by: his wife, Ann Thrash Voris; and parents, Julia Hensler and Harvey Voris.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. Memorial service celebrating Dick's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 at Montereau Coterie Theater, 6800 S. Granite Ave, 74136.
