Obituary

Robert Galbraith Allison III, 75, "Rob," went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a brave fight with brain cancer.

Born in Oklahoma City on March 27, 1950, and raised in Tulsa by his father, Robert Allison II, a World War II fighter pilot veteran, and his loving mother, Ruth Allison, Rob's early childhood was full of love, baseball, and the inspiration of "The Mick," Mickey Mantle-his boyhood hero. In his high school years, the Allison family moved to Newport Beach, California, where Rob became a proud Corona del Mar Sea King.

In his 20s and early 30s, Rob lived across the country working for Continental Airlines and traveling the world. In 1982, he married Jill Lockett and returned to Tulsa in 1983 to raise his family in the city he considered home. In 1984, he opened his own travel agency, Total Travel of Tulsa, which he ran for over 35 years with unwavering dedication, building a reputation rooted in hard work, loyalty, and exceptional customer service.

Rob was an avid golfer who found joy, humor, and friendship on the course with his loyal and entertaining Forest Ridge golf group. He had impeccable taste in music-especially his love for Frank Sinatra, whose songs were the soundtrack of many long drives and quiet moments. He also had a deep appreciation for classic films and Westerns, always ready with a recommendation or eager to rewatch an old favorite.

A devoted OU football fan, Rob spent countless fall Saturdays cheering on the Sooners with pride. But his truest joy came from his family. He was a constant, supportive father-whether driving to Edmond to take his daughter to dinner or sitting in the stands to watch whatever sport his grandchildren were into at the moment. One of his proudest roles was being a dedicated supporter of his son's coaching career, never missing a chance to watch him lead on the basketball court.

Rob was a devoted father, proud grandfather, beloved brother, and loyal friend. He is survived by his son, Robert Galbraith Allison IV, and his fiance Michelle; his daughter, Beth Dayton, and her husband Chad; his grandchildren, Connor, Weston, and Cameran Dayton; his sister, Nancy Jay and the Jay family; and his Uncle Tom Allison and Aunt Nilda.

A funeral service will be held on June 16th at 10 a.m. at BattleCreek Church - Midtown, 3817 S. Lewis Ave., Tulsa, OK 74105.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Tulsa Memorial Chargers Basketball Booster Club in Rob's honor.
