Robert Martin
Black
December 17, 1941 – March 18, 2026
Robert "Bob" Martin Black, age 84, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was called home to be with his Lord on March 18, 2026, in Tulsa.
Bob was born on December 17, 1941, in Nowata, Oklahoma, to Kenneth L. Black and Elsie N. Black. He spent his early childhood in Nowata before growing up in Tulsa, where he formed lifelong friendships and deep roots in the community. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1960 and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma on an athletic scholarship for swimming, an early reflection of his discipline, perseverance, and God-given talents.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1969. Following his military service, he built a long and respected career as an engineer with Amoco Production Company, where he worked for more than 30 years. His strong work ethic, integrity, and steady character were evident in all he did and reflected the values he lived by.
Above all else, Bob was a devoted family man-kind to his friends and always ready and willing to lend a hand. He lived his faith quietly but faithfully, demonstrating love, patience, and generosity through his actions. Bob had a lifelong love of cars and found great joy in the automotive community. He was a very active member of the Green Country Classic Mustang Club and was deeply involved in the annual Mid-America Ford and Shelby Nationals, where he built lasting friendships with those who shared his passion.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith Earlene Black, whom he cherished deeply.
He is survived by his son, David Martin Black (Pamela Black), and his daughter, Debra Earlene Black; his sister, Lonna L. Sowers; and his nephew, Zachary Stephenson, along with extended family and many friends. While he will be greatly missed, his family takes comfort in the promise of eternal life and the hope of reunion through Christ.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."- 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)
