Robert E. Craine, Jr. (Bob), 66, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died on September 21, 2014. Bob was born on February 11, 1948 in Great Bend, Kansas to Robert E. Craine and Mary (Peel) Craine. Bob graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1970 and received an MBA and Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University in 1974.
Bob married Deborah J. (Payne) Craine on August 13, 1991.
Bob's professional background was extensive and impressive, beginning at Gable and Gotwals, Inc., where he was an officer, director and stockholder. He moved on to T/SF Communications Corp. where he served as the Executive Vice President and Director from 1985 to 1997. In October of 1997, he began his entrepreneurial concentration with numerous firms including Inoveon Corporation, Murphy Industries, Geophysical Research Corp., Horizon Well Logging. Bob has been the Managing Director and CEO of TSF Capital, LLC and TSF Holdings, LLC, which are related merchant banking firms from 2003 to present.
Bob's civic and charitable contributions were extensive as well. He served numerous board positions for the Oklahoma Investment Forum, and i2E, Inc. (formerly Oklahoma Technology Development Corp.). He served as founder, Publisher and Editor of Future Value Magazine and was appointed by the Governor to the Oklahoma Science and Technology Council. One of his most beloved involvements was with the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad in New Mexico and Colorado. He also treasured and adored his beautiful church home, Asbury United Methodist Church where he was a member from 1993 until his death, serving on numerous committees and the Administrative Council.
Bob grew up in Great Bend, Kansas with many travels to Fort Worth, Texas to temporarily live and be with dear family members there before moving to Tulsa after graduation from SMU. Bob spent time in the Air National Guard in 1970-71 and was stationed near Denver, Colorado during this time.
Bob had many outside interests and hobbies. He loved trains, big or small and spent many of his vacations on train trips from Colorado to Africa. Bob also loved his Kansas Jayhawks. He always made sure to get in a trip to Lawrence each fall and winter for football and basketball games. Other interests included Harley Davidson motorcycles, Corvettes, collecting Native American and Western art, collecting guns and knives, and his favorite pastime of shooting off fireworks, explosives, and cannons.
Bob is survived by Debbie (Payne) Craine, his loving and devoted wife of 23 years. He is also survived by his daughters, Anne (Craine) Collins (Michael Chad Collins) of Olathe, Kansas; Kristen Marie Craine of Tulsa,, Oklahoma; stepsons Richard W. Willhour III (Allison Bond Willhour) of Inola, Oklahoma; and Charles Travis Willhour (Sarah Woods Willhour) of Pryor, Oklahoma. Bob had seven beautiful grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Kayleigh Collins and Kelsey Collins of Olathe, Kansas; Will Willhour and Cutter Willhour of Inola, Oklahoma; Taylor Bradshaw, David Bradshaw, Jr., and Henry Willhour of Pryor, Oklahoma. Bob is also survived by his loving nephews, Robert Ernsting (Tonya), and their children Elizabeth and Grant, and Eric Ernsting (Vicki) and their son Robert.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Robert E. Craine (November 1956), Mary (Peel) Craine (December 1963), and his sister Mary Anne (Craine) Ernsting (December 1997).
The celebration of life for Robert E. Craine, Jr., will be held on September 25, 2:00 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Tom Harrison, Senior Pastor. Family-only interment at 1:15 p.m. preceding service.
