Robert E. (Bob) Moore passed peacefully from this earth on Sunday, November 25, after a brief illness. He was born on October 31, 1924 to Ralph O. and Elisabeth (Wallau) Moore in Wewoka, Oklahoma, but moved to Tulsa as a child. He attended St. Francis grade school and Will Rogers High School, graduating in 1942. He served with the Marines in World War II in the Pacific. He spent his career as an aircraft mechanic on small aircraft, retiring from Avtec (formerly Tulsa Piper) at Jones Riverside Airport in 1990. He married the love of his life, Becky (Mudd) Moore on January 29, 1949, and they were married for more than 68 years when she passed away in September, 2017. He was also pre-deceased by his son, William John (Billy) Moore in December, 2011. Bob was a kind and gentle man with the eye of an artist and the skills of a master craftsman. Aviation was both his hobby and his occupation from the time he built his first model plane, through his service in the Marines, and through retirement.
As a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for 67 years, his faith and love of God were at the center of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of caring and giving that affected many people. His post-retirement years were consciously devoted to making life better for others. His widowed friends always knew they could ask him for help with anything. He and Becky served with Meals on Wheels for many years.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Sengel (Jim), and sons, Jim (Cheryl), Steve (Debra) and Paul (Anne Marie), and grandchildren Emily (Sengel) Persson, Nathan Moore, Sam Moore, Scott Moore, David Moore, Beth (Moore) Burton, Katie (Moore) Sinclair, Andy Moore, Rachel Moore, Becca Moore, and 9 great-grandchildren. The family is also very grateful to Mary Gayle Perry for her selfless care of Bob and Becky the last few years. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1419 N. 67th E. Ave., Tulsa. Rosary will be held on Thursday, November 29, at 7:30 p.m., also at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, or a charity of your choice.
