Obituary

Robert (Bob) Brumm, beloved husband, brother, uncle, friend, and neighbor to many since moving to Broken Arrow in 1986, passed into the Lord's loving care on Saturday, January 7th, 2023.

Bob was born March 16th, 1950 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Charles and Genevieve (Jean) Brumm. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rita K. Brumm, brother Fred Brumm and his wife Barbara (3 children) , niece Veronica and James Ellsworth of Morgantown, Georgia, (2 daughters, 2 grandchildren), Frederick Brumm, Jr. and Suzanne Brumm of Rochester, New York (3 sons) nephew Jeff Brumm and wife Christine (1 son) of Ankeny, Iowa. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served for nearly eight years, and was honorably discharged, holding the ending rank of staff sergeant. He then attended college at Western Kentucky University on the GI Bill. As aviation was always his passion, he enjoyed a long and successful career as a mechanic for American Alrlines, earning many awards of performance excellence during his employment there.

Bob and Rita both attended Asbury Church for several years, where they both served as Stephen Ministers, and Bob was a facilitator for the church's 12 week grief recovery program. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 1, and volunteered for the military charity Soldier's Wish. They are currently members of First United Methodist Church in Bixby. Bob loved animals; he and Rita adopted and raised two cocker spaniels, and Bob often helped with dog rescue organization events. He was known for his special sense of humor.

He and his wife Rita loved to cruise and host gatherings with family and friends. He was also a huge model train fan, and was in the process of building one in the family home. Bob also loved collecting historical coins and was a longtime member of the North American Aerospace Rod and Gun Club.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be announced for a later date.
