Robert Tildon Cathey Jr. 67, of Tulsa passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Born December 15, 1951 in Asheville, North Carolina to the late Robert T. Cathey Sr. and Joyce (Owen) Cathey. In 1978, he graduated from Southern Methodist University. He worked for offshore drilling companies including Transocean and Seadrill as a mechanical engineer. His profession took him around the world to Southeast Asia and Brazil along with the Gulf Of Mexico. Bob also had a passion for learning new skills including landscaping, woodworking and carpentry. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his sister, Becky York and her family, David York, Jenny York and Bryan York. Mr. Cathey was a member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 14, 2019 in the Rose Chapel of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be mad to the MD Anderson Melanoma and Skin Center, Houston, Tx. or the Melanoma Research Foundation in Baltimore, MD. The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care given by the nurses, Physical and Occupational Therapists at St. Francis along with Dr. Robert Hauger and Dr. Alan Keller
