>>> An avid hunter, outdoorsman, and lover of dogs, Robert Lee Eliot passed away on March
a21, 2014, his 67th birthday. He was born in Norman, OK in 1947 and was the son of Norma Jo Jones and Theodore Quentin Eliot, Sr. Robert graduated from Judson School in Scottsdale, AZ and attended OSU in Stillwater. He served his country in the Air Force with postings in Minot,
ND, Goose Bay Labrador, and Guam. After completion of his military service, Robert became a police officer with the Tulsa Police Department and was a member of the Department's SWAT Team. In the mid-1970s, he competed in the Police Olympics in Washington State where he won the Gold Medal in Skeet Shooting, running 100 straight in 12, 20, 28, and 410 gauge competition. During the 1977 U. S. Open at Southern Hills Country Club he guarded golfer Hubert Green after Green received a death threat during the tournament.
After leaving the Police Department, Robert worked in the hardware and energy industries. He was predeceased by his Grandparents, Henry Clifford and Dora Dean Jones, John and Ethel Eliot, his Mother, Norma Jo Eliot Rutherford, his Step-father, S. Morton Rutherford, III, and Jack D. Jones, his uncle. Robert is survived by his son, Andy Eliot, his wife Jessica and their daughters, Madilyn and Abigail of Wilmington, NC, and, his daughter Abigail Sink, her husband Major James Sink and their children Kaylee, Hayden, Briley, stationed in Venice, Italy, and brothers John of Chincoteague, Va., and Ted and his wife Judy of Tulsa, his aunt and uncle, Dena Lee and Larry Crooke of London, his aunt, Sally Jones of Tulsa, and cousins Peggy Shoemaker of Santa Barbara, CA, Betsy Jones of Pasadena, CA, Susan Jones-Butcher of Tulsa, and his loyal and faithful Labrador retriever, Kate.

>>> A gathering with family and friends will be held on Friday, March 28 at Moore's Memory Chapel at 4:00 o'clock p. m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Robert's memory to Ducks Unlimited.
