On October 15, 2023, Robert E. Reed, 91, of Tulsa passed away peacefully at Clarehouse surrounded by his family.

Robert, fondly known as Bob, was born to Clell Howard Reed and Florence Mayfield Reed, on January 27th, 1932, in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated high school in Springfield and attended Drury College before transferring to the University of Tulsa where he graduated with degrees in Management and Marketing in 1954. He was a member and later an Alumni Advisor for the social fraternity Kappa Alpha Order.

Following graduation from college Bob joined the Air Force and was married to Margaret Anne Graham from 1954 to 1971. After two years in the Air Force, he returned to Tulsa and they had three daughters, Lorrie, Lisa and Stacey. He worked in the garment industry for 35 years, owning his own business for the last 22 years of that time. In 1981, he married Renee Ross Shortridge who was the love of his life. Bob's second career was in residential real estate and he became a broker with McGraw Davisson Stewart and held a sales manager position for fifteen years with that firm. He also pursued painting and art. Bob and Renee were part of the Garden Park community in Tulsa. They enjoyed traveling and spending time at their Grand Lake home. They also enjoyed playing card games, socializing with friends and listening to jazz. Following Covid, Bob looked forward to the weekly family Zoom call titled "Scotch with Bob!"

Bob was an active member of the Rotary Club of Tulsa for 63 years and a past Chairman of the Board. He was involved with Rotary's Camp Enterprise, was in the Men of Note group and in 2021 received a Lifetime Membership award. Bob was the Chief Accountant at the 1970 US Figure Skating Championships in Tulsa and also served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the US Figure Skating Association. After retiring, he volunteered at St. John's Hospital for several years.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Renee Reed, his mother and father, his brother, William Reed of Texas City, TX, his stepson, Jeff Shortridge of Fort Worth, TX and his step-grandson, Hunter Shortridge. He is survived by his three daughters: Lorrie Parker (Paul), Lisa Pockrus (Alex) and Stacey James (Barney) along with his stepdaughter, Sydnee Kilgore (Joe). Bob had 11 grandchildren: Kelsey Parker Gislason (Leif), Reed Parker (Kathryn), Alex, Robert, and Jordan Pockrus, Meredith and Tim James, Traci Tooman (Billy Potocnik) and Brent Tooman (Teena), Lindsey McMillen and Kirsten Shortridge. He also had 15 great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Everett, Oliver, Lily, Niko, Santi, Hank, Barrett, Cooper, Isi, Hadleigh, Braxton, Willa, August, and Rivie.

A memorial service is planned for November 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 4200 S. Atlanta, Tulsa. The service will be followed by a reception at the church with interment in the garden. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Rotary Club of Tulsa Foundation or Clarehouse.
