Rob was born on August 13, 1945 in Fredrick Oklahoma. he was a ray of sunshine to parents Donald H. Highfill and Betty Ann Highfill. He grew to be such a smart and loving boy. In 1953 the family was sent to live in Germany for three years. He loved sledding and playing in the snow.
Upon returning to the United Stated in 1955, we lived in Lawton Oklahoma. In 1959 the family moved to Tipton, Oklahoma to run the family grocery store. In Tipton he learned to love showing Black Angus cows at the fair. He would brush tails and make the cows beautiful.
The time came when the family moved back to Lawton and Rob graduated from Lawton High School. He went to Oklahoma State University. He lived in the animal barns to be closer to what he loved to do.
After one year, the family moved to Silverton, Colorado and Rob decided to take time off from college. He went to work in the silver mines. Not such a fun job but he met his wife, Judy, there. They were soon married and moved back to Oklahoma to finish college. Next year, Bobby was a delightful surprise. They did not plan on a family so soon but, life happens. Rob finished college and graduated from OSU.
Rob went to work for Equifax. After seventeen years he retired from there and tried his hand at a few other things. Then one day he landed the job he loved. Selling cars. He could help people and make a living at the same time. He retired from Matthews in 2018. Then he learned about gardening from his niece, Leann. his yard grew to be a beautiful place to enjoy. He and Leann exchanged seeds and ideas. This was his pride and joy for the last few years of his life.
Rob was such a beautiful person to be around. Kind, giving. This world will miss him. Rob is in a better place now, with his mother, father and aunt. He is survived by his son, Bobby, grandson, Andrew, great grand daughter in law, Noemi, great grandson, Tyler, great grand daughters Autumn and Kamy, sister, Jean, niece, Leann and nephew, Ken.
