Obituary

Robert D. Horinek, 70, passed away November 9, 2015 surrounded by family and close friends after a long struggle with heart issues. Bob was born and grew up in Newkirk, Oklahoma, the son of Robert L. Horinek and Katherine M. (Spoor) Horinek.
Bob attended Oklahoma State University. He married Lynda Nixon on December 26, 1970 in Oxford, Kansas. He owned and operated a construction company, originally building residential and then transitioned to commercial construction, specializing in nursing homes and retirement facilities. Bob was an avid supporter of OSU and Notre Dame football, rarely missing an OSU home football game in over 40 years. He loved to sail, travel, play tournament blackjack, and discover the best hole in the wall restaurants.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Robert L. Horinek. He is survived by his wife, Lynda Horinek, Tulsa; daughter, Wendy Ward and husband Craig, Lucas, Texas; mother, Katherine Horinek, Newkirk; siblings Beverly & Larry Ball, Waynoka, Bill Horinek, Newkirk, Joyce & Scott Haywood, Ponca City, and Warren Horinek, Texas; and extended family, Mary Roth, Kelly & Mia Kitchen, Keri, Cory, Nate & Sam Robinson, and Kristy, Charlie & Jake McDonnell.
