Robert Jeral Howe, commonly known as Bob, was born on April 21, 1925, in Tulsa Oklahoma. He passed on March 30, 2024, in Jenks Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by parents Samuel Teller Howe and Lucy Pearl (Copus), brothers Samuel Jr and Royce Sampson, wife Rena Evelyn (Bell) and previous wife Martha (Daniel), son Ronald J, and granddaughter Sabrina.
He is survived by son Daniel and his wife Janice, daughter-in-law Betty, grandsons Ronald J Jr and Chris, granddaughters Ronneena Brickell, Jenna James and Stephanie Stephens, and a multitude of great-grandchildren.
Bob was primarily raised Baptist, attending Immanuel Baptist Church in Tulsa during the 60s and 70s, where he was an occasional Deacon. He attended others later but was always a man of God.
Robert had always been a salesman, he found his niche as a Used Car Salesman. He owned a lot on 11th St in Tulsa next to the Bama Pie Company, for decades.
Bob had always been an articulate man. He could hold a conversation with anyone. He could always find some connection to anyone.
This ability brought him to Toastmasters International. At around the same time he met Evelyn, who was already in Toastmasters. Together they were heavily involved there, and he excelled and achieved several honors and awards at the organization.
Robert achieved the Distinguished Toastmaster Accolade, which is the highest level of achievement a member can earn in Toastmasters International's education program. It involves completing many speeches in the program and becoming a mentor to new members and clubs as they begin their journey of self-improvement with Toastmasters.
Bob first joined Toastmasters in October 1997, and in 2005 he became a mentor and chartering member of the Friends of Greenwood Toastmasters Club #720944. Additionally, Bob served as Area T6 Governor (2006-2007) and the 2007 Division T Governor. As Division T Governor, he received the Outstanding Division Governor Award. With commitment and dedication, Bob's service and leadership made a difference to Toastmasters all across Oklahoma and beyond.
Even though he was married several times, he always maintained a good relationship with them all.
He enjoyed cars. Old cars, Classic cars and newer cars. He enjoyed watching auto races, such as the Saturday night Stock Car races at the Fairgrounds dirt track.
Funeral services will be held on April 4, 2024, in the Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery at 10AM, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
