Robert Dee Humphrey, age 91, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on August 8, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert Dee Humphrey and Mary Lorene Wilhem Humphrey and his son Mike Humphrey. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Colleen Miller Humphrey, His sons Rick and Steve, his grandchildren: Jared, Colleen, Malachi, Aubrey, Lydia, Melinda, and Brenna, and his great-grandchildren: Savannah, Karah, Owen, Ryder, Koa, Lily and Ellis.

Bob was born on the family farm in Comanche County Texas. His family relocated to Tulsa, OK in 1936 for his dad's work during the Oil Field Boom. In Tulsa, Bob attended Mark Twain Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High School and Tulsa Central High School. During his sophomore year, Bob's dad died and he and his mother had to move into an apartment. From that point on Bob worked jobs after school to help his mom. He kept up with his studies, athletics and he was proud to be a graduate of Tulsa Central High School Class of 1953. He was the Class President during his Junior year. All through Junior High and High school Bob played Football and wrestled. He was proud of the fact that in his Senior year the football team went undefeated. As he prepared to graduate from Central, Bob had college football and wrestling offers from Penn State, Syracuse, Michigan, Tulsa, University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma A&M, SMU, Kansas, and Kansas State. He accepted the offers for both football and wrestling from Oklahoma A & M.

Bob loved to tell stories of his time playing football, wrestling and living in Bennet Hall, the Athletic Dorm on Campus. Like while in high school, he managed to work a lot of odd jobs, attend classes and keep up with his athletic endeavors. Bob was in the first graduating class of Oklahoma State University Summer Class of 1957.

During the Spring semester of his Freshman Year, Bob met the love of his life, Colleen Patricia Miller and by the end of that summer, they were engaged. They were married the next year on June 3, 1955, in Oklahoma City, OK. After a short stint in the Army, Bob and Colleen moved to Augusta, KS where he went to work for the Walter O'Bannon Company. While in Augusta, they expanded their family when they welcomed Rick and then Mike. They enjoyed their time in Agusta and met several life-long friends while there. Work moved Bob and his family again, this time to Chanute, KS. Steve was born while they lived in Chanute.

Bob had always hoped to move back to Tulsa and work again allowed them to relocate, this time to their long-time home on E. 59th Street. Bob began working as a Sales Territory Representative for Parker Hannifan. He traveled a great deal for work, but he was home as often as possible to support and watch the boys participate in their various sports and school activities. In the 1980s Bob had his own company, Humphrey Connectors, and he worked in his hydraulic hose and fitting business with his sons, Rick, Mike and Steve.

As a family, they spent a lot of time on the area lakes including Grand, Ft. Gibson and finally Lake Eufala. Bob loved fishing and his favorite type was to run jug lines. He fished with his boys, with his best friends, and with his grandkids. He also liked to go with Colleen and the

boys in their motor home for skiing vacations in Colorado and other family trips. Over the years, they had many boats and they spent as much time as he could manage with family and friends fishing, skiing, having cookouts and telling stories. After Bob retired, he and Colleen enjoyed having their Condo on Lake Eufala. They enjoyed the beach, fishing from the boats and the dock, and being a part of the Bridgeport Dunes community. When their grandkids started arriving, they learned to drive the golf cart, fish and enjoy the outdoors with their grandad.

Over the years, Bob spent time traveling with Colleen and their friends taking trips to Europe, Canada, Mexico, cruising to the Panama Canal, the Caribbean and finally Alaska. Bob loved that trip to Alaska.

He also enjoyed being an active member at The Kirk of the Hills church. He worked with their mission group and he often talked about the work they did in Louisiana right after Hurricane Katrina as well as on the Joplin Tornado recovery.

In recent years Bob enjoyed spending any time that he could with Colleen and their family. They made a point to attend as many grandkids events as possible including dance recitals, baseball games, swim meets, and football games. It was fun to watch him learn to be a girl Granddad after having raised sons and the first grandkids being boys.

Bob loved life, loved his family and worked hard to take care of them. He and his big grin will be missed by his family, friends and those he helped quietly along his life's journey.

Memorial Service will be 1PM, Friday, August 14, 2026 at Kirk of The Hills, 4102 East 61st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
