Obituary

Robert Earl Jinkens, 86, of Tulsa, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family Friday, September 13, 2019. He was born December 20, 1932, in Los Angeles, CA, to George and Emily Jinkens. Robert served in the United States Air Force where he enlisted as an aircraft mechanic, applied and was accepted to OCS and pilot training, and was honorably discharged due to a brain tumor that was discovered during training. After his long recovery, he was an instructor for Spartan School of Aeronautics, where he taught until retiring. Robert was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

Robert is most remembered as a loving husband, giving father, devoted friend; a grandfather and PaPa. His passion in his later years was family, for which they are all grateful. His kindness, stubbornness, and generosity will never be forgotten.

Robert is survived by his children, Cynthia Briner and her husband David, Sandra Jinkens, Robert Jinkens Jr. and his wife Debora, and Ann Nicholson and her husband David; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Gloria Jinkens and two sisters.
