Robert Frank Lucy ("Bob") passed away on February 13, 2018. A member of the greatest generation, Bob earned this designation as a rare individual that did the right thing, the right way, and for the right reasons every day. Bob was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma on September 7, 1930, the only child of Otto and Lilibel Lucy.

He graduated from Classen High School and the University of Oklahoma and was a lifetime Sooner fan. Bob was a member of the Marine Reserves and later served as Captain in the Army Reserve. In college, he met the love of his life, Patricia Alden. They married on his birthday and their union of 66 years served as a shining example of what it means to be in a loving, supportive and committed partnership. Bob spent his career at Cities Service where he served in many roles including Chairman of the Operating Committee and as VP and General Manager of the Columbian Chemicals Division.

During his career, he traveled the world with Pat often at his side. Bob and Pat are exemplary parents. Bob served as a youth coach, Boy Scout leader, and church leader. He was active in community organizations including the Kiwanis and later the Rotary Club of Tulsa. Bob gave his time, talent and resources to support many non-profit organizations, primarily those focused on social justice and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

With the birth of his first grandchild, Bob assumed his most cherished title of Papa, actively engaged in raising and supporting his six grandchildren. This retired executive sat in countless pick-up and drop-off lines at schools, attended school fairs and pageants, helped with homework, made dr. visits, dropped off forgotten lunches, and patiently tended to his sick grandkids so their parents could make a living. He also made sure that each of his grandchildren had the resources they needed to obtain a good education. Bob earned the well-deserved designation of a beloved husband, Dad, Papa, and Uncle.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Alden Lucy, son Rick Lucy and wife Lori of Aurora, CO., daughter Dana Birkes and husband Michael of Tulsa, six grandchildren, Erin Lucy, Robert H. Lucy, Kelsey Ney and husband Drew, Graham Lucy, Taylor Birkes, and Brian Birkes, and niece Jeanne Christianson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eldest son Robert. Memorials may be sent to the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance fund.

A service commemorating Bob's life will be held Saturday, February 17th at 2:00 pm at College Hill Presbyterian Church, 712 S. Columbia, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
