McComb, Robert C. ?Bob?, 86, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, after battling lymphoma for four years, surrounded by his family. He was a loving, caring husband, father, and grandfather. Bob was born in Columbus, Ohio, December 23, 1926, to Kenneth C. & Fan (Emmert) McComb. He graduated from North High School, Columbus OH. He served in the US Army Infantry in Japan. He married Beverly (Brown), on September 10, 1949, in Worthington, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in geology and he worked in the oil fields in Oklahoma and West Virginia for Dowell, Inc. He was a tubular products sales representative with US Steel in Pittsburgh PA and Houston TX. He retired in 1979, after 23 years. They moved to Tulsa where he worked for Bovaird Supply. In retirement, he enjoyed volunteering as a docent for the Tulsa Zoo for 20 years. He also worked part-time at Wild Birds Unlimited for 10 years.
Bob is survived by Beverly, his wife of 63 years. His children: Carly Crawford, her husband, Gregg, Broken Arrow, OK; Kenn McComb, his wife, Kathy, Ft. Worth, TX.; Kyle (Holland) Cook, her husband, Roger, Albemarle, N.C. Grandchildren: Scott Crawford and Rachel Howard, Kate McComb and Lee McComb, Mark Holland and Dan Holland. Great grandchildren: Sheridan Crawford, Keyleigh Crawford, Megan Howard, Mercedes Howard, and Emerson Howard. He?ll also be greatly missed by his constant companion, his Springer Spaniel, Jenny. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 2:00 PM, Trinity Presbyterian Church, 9303 East 111th Street, Bixby OK 74008.
