Obituary

McGill, Robert Barnes; 84, of Littleton, CO. passed away January 12, 2015. Born in Tulsa, OK, July 31, 1930. Lifelong Tulsan; predeceased by wife of 59 years, Louise T. McGill (1932-2013); survived by sister Barbara Bond of Montgomery, AL; son Lawrence T. McGill of Princeton Jct, NJ; daughter Janet Allen, of Tulsa, OK; son David McGill, of Evanston, IL; daughter Sharon Oliver, of Littleton, CO; six grandsons and one granddaughter. Attended the University of Tulsa and was a 1954 graduate of the University of Oklahoma - Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering; Captain, US Air Force (1954-56); Founding member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Tulsa; designing architect of dozens of churches in Northeast Oklahoma. Later facilities manager at Dowell, Telex and Thrifty Rent-a-Car. He was named Sertoman of the Year in 2003 by the Sertoma Club of Tulsa.

He is remembered for his faith, love of genealogy and antiquing, his artistic ability, his keen intelligence, his mastery of crossword puzzles, the joy he took in his grandchildren, and as a self-deprecating punster.

Visitiaton will be 9AM-11AM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn. Memorial service will follow at 12:30 PM, Boston Avenue United Methodist-Rose Chapel. "Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8.
