Robert Marion Miler was born March 10, 1922, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Roy G. and Anna Lee Ballard Miler. He died Thursday, October 25, 2018.
Bob attended the University of Pennsylvania on a wrestling scholarship until WWII broke out. He was a flight instructor in the Army Air Corps, flying AT6s and P40s. After the war he resumed school at Oklahoma A&M, graduating in 1950. He married Carlene Cox on May 13, 1951. He worked for Braden Steel Corp from 1950 until he retired in 1980. He then went to work for United Steel Structures in Houston until 1997.
He was a member of First Christian Church, serving as deacon for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, a son Scott Miler (Melissa) of Broken Arrow, daughter Donelle Benson (David) of Salt Lake City, Utah, three grandchildren, Adam Miler (Justin Oakes) of Broken Arrow, Lauren Sherry (Daniel) of Yukon and Dana Benson of Salt Lake City, Utah and sister Cleda Parkinson of Los Angeles.
