Obituary

Robert (Bob) J. Raines, of Tulsa, entered the gates of Heaven on May 6, 2020 at 91 years of age. Bob was born on April 6, 1929 in Ramona, Oklahoma to Jennings G. Raines and Corrine (Coleman) Raines. Bob grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma with his younger brother, James H. Raines and graduated from Bartlesville College High School. Bob served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne from 1948-1952 and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class.

Bob married the love of his life, Nadine Tucker, on Valentine's Day in 1953. They celebrated 40 years of marriage prior to Nadine's death in 1993. Bob and Nadine had one daughter, Janet
(Raines) Stewart. Bob was a dedicated Granddad to his grandsons, Matthew Stewart and Jeremy Stewart, and was the proud great-grandfather to Liam Stewart and Quinn Stewart. Bob spent his life working in the machine shop industry, first working for Coleman Instrument Company and later for Gear Products and G&N Manufacturing.

Bob and Nadine were members of Parkland Baptist Church, where Bob served as Deacon and
the couple were honored to serve as Sunday School teachers for the college-age class. They
loved their time spent with this group and they provided a positive impact on the lives of several young men and women. In later years, Bob and Nadine were members of the First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine; his parents, and his younger brother, James H.
Raines.

He is survived by his daughter, Janet and her husband, Neil Stewart; his grandsons, Matthew
Stewart (LaTonya) and Jeremy Stewart; his great-grandchildren, Liam Stewart and Quinn
Stewart; as well as his nephews, Robert C. Raines (Cheryl), Timothy C. Raines (Amy), and Jay
J. Raines (Anita). Bob is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews from his wife's side of the family along with several great-nieces and great-nephews in both families. Uncle Bob was always a family favorite among them.

Bob's family would like to thank the staff of Saint Francis Hospice, Covenant Living of Bixby,
and The Linden of Stonehaven, who provided care for Bob the last few years.
