Obituary

Robert P. Schultz passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 in Tulsa, OK. Robert was born on November 1, 1944 in Seymour, Indiana. He was the son of Robert L. Schultz and Ann Elizabeth Gamsky Schultz. He graduated from University of Missouri in 1967 with a Bachelor's degree in Forestry.

Robert began his military career while at the University of Missouri in the Air Force ROTC where he was named a distinguished military cadet. He then began full service in the United States Air Force serving in Wiesbaden, Germany from 1968 - 1972. He returned to service in the Air Force National Guard in 1983 and later became base commander full time in Baden, North Carolina. He retired in March, 2001 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

While stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany, Robert met Marilyn Louise Switzer and married her on August 9, 1969. They had their first child, Cynthia, while in Germany. Robert and Marilyn welcomed their son, Robert Daniel, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Robert and Marilyn traveled extensively in Europe in their VW camper while stationed in Germany. They continued traveling throughout the United States with their growing family, exposing them to the joys of the outdoors and camping. After Robert's retirement in 2001, Robert and Marilyn traveled throughout the United States and Canada with their small RV, and occasional trips abroad. Robert took pride in finding the most beautiful campsites and campgrounds wherever he went.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marilyn, and his brother John Schultz. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Milford (Aaron) and son Robert Schultz (Susie); Brothers Timothy Schultz and William Schultz and sister Betteanne Smith; Six grandchildren: Paul, Hayley, Haven, Julianna, Braden and Ashlyn.
