Roberta Ann (Wertz) Dewey died in the early hours of April 19, 2015 at Montereau in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the beautiful age of 93 years.
She was born February 21, 1922 in Wichita, Kansas where she attended Wichita State University and met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Dewey. She followed her husband around Navy bases during World War II and to his geological studies at the University of Oklahoma; they finally settled in Oklahoma City, where Mr. Dewey was a Petroleum Geologist.
Roberta was secretary to President Cross of University of Oklahoma, various Oklahoma Congressmen, and an Administrative Assistant to Dewey Bartlett, Sr. while he was both Governor and U.S. Senator.
After bearing three children, she earned her Master's Degree in English. But nothing was quite as satisfying as good non-fiction, Bible studies, duplicate bridge, and the ever-moving news cycle.
Her true life-long commitment was as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother ("Gigi"). Her quick-witted sense of humor and love of others are what made her so memorable to so many, but her deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ is what drew such lovely friends to her side no matter the occasion or need or celebration.
Roberta has lived in Tulsa for sixteen years and attended Kirk of the Hills Church.
She is survived by three children: Patty Morwood and husband Frank, John Dewey and wife Melanie, and Brad Dewey and wife Della as well as eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and many tremendous friends. A private service will be held. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
