Obituary

Robert "Bob" Carl Brinkmeier was born on April 14, 1941, and passed away on May 24, 2019, at Select Med Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born in San Diego, California, to the parents of William and Mary Brinkmeier. He grew up in San Diego, CA, where he spent a lot of his time on the beach and surfing. He graduated from Coronado High School in 1959.
Bob was drafted into the Army out of high school. He took paratrooper training and had well over 3,000 jumps. He went on to be a Green Beret and was involved in many secret missions. He was in the first group to be presented his green beret by President John F. Kennedy. Bob earned the rank of SFC and retired from military service after 23 years.
While at Frankfurt Army Medical Center, Germany, he met Donna Kelley. In April of 1979, they married in Copenhagen, Denmark. Out of that union, was born one daughter, Kelly Brinkmeier in 1980.
Bob became a "Master Gardner" and loved working in the yard. Bob was an avid animal lover and never found one that he didn't immediately fall in love with.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Rose, Harriet, Mary, Margaret, and Fred. He is survived by his wife Donna, and daughter Kelly, and grandchildren, Brenden, Caleb, Mariah, Bishop, Renee, and Ryan, and his favorite niece, Julie Gauthier, and sibling Beverly.
Visitation for Bob will be June 4, 2019, from 6-8 PM at Moore's Southlawn Chapel funeral home. Final internment will be at 12 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, with full military honors. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
