Robert (Robby) Eugene Cartner Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 18, 2023. Rob was 72 years old.
Rob was born on February 2, 1951 to Robert Eugene Cartner Sr. and Virgie (Price) Cartner in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He grew up in Tulsa, and graduated from East Central High School (Class of 69) and went on to college at NEO. While in college, he began dating Lora Cervantez and the two would eventually marry having two sons- Shawn and Travis.
Rob went on to be a Tulsa Police Officer for twenty-five years. His assignments included patrol, Detective division, VICE/Narcotics and Fugitive Warrants. The majority of his career was spent on the Special Operations Team where he served as the team leader. One of the "original SOT members," Rob would retire from this position, but go on to train SWAT officers from around the nation, as the Vice President of Training for the National Tactical Officers Association.
The only thing that Rob was more passionate about than his work was his family. He was married to Lora Kay (Cervantez) Cartner for 51 years and still "dated" her until his time was called to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Virgie Cartner, and two sisters Patti Cartner and Martha Jane Cartner. He is survived by his brother Tim Cartner, sister Beth Cartner, his two sons, Shawn and Travis Cartner, his six grandchildren Madison Cartner, Garrett Cartner, Dylan Cartner, Bobby Cartner, Nick Macas, J.R. Macas- as well as the love of his life, Lora Cartner.
Aside from being an avid hunter and fisherman, his hobbies included spending time with his family. He enjoyed running and cycling and spent a large amount of time helping with his grandchildren and in thoughts and prayers, chasing God- reading His Word, praying and seeking to find Him.
A celebration of his life is planned for May 1, 2023 at 10:30am at the Lodge at Bridal Creek- 5811 S. Roper Road, Sperry, Oklahoma.
