Bob was the second son born to R.G. and Kathleen Hughes Ladd on March 3, 1935 in Tulsa, OK. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School where he was a proud member of Central's last undefeated football team. He went on to play football for Coffeyville Junior College.
He was inducted into the Army in September 1954 and was one of only 28 of over 8,000 recruits who qualified for Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning Georgia. He served 1.5 years in Germany in the Army Intelligence Unit with two months of that time assigned to the Central Europe Command.
Bob returned home in 1956 and married the love of his life, Ruth Kelton. They had two children Carrie Ann and Robert Gregory. He went to work for oil industry companies then joined Albert & Harlow Caterpillar. He spent the next sixteen years with CAT as an industrial sales engineer.
In 1988, Bob started his own company, TranAm Systems International, Inc. along with his partners. He retired as Chairman and CEO in 2018.
Bob served his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as Deacon at Easton Heights Baptist Church where he was a charter member.
He is preceded in death by his parents R.G. and Kathleen Ladd and brother Sam Ladd.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth; daughter Carrie Strong and her husband Jim of Branson, MO; son Greg and his wife Kim of Plano, TX; granddaughter Ashley Munn and her husband Kris and their children Kherington and Hudson of Waco, TX; grandson Robert "BJ" Strong and his wife Morgan and their son Tolson of Lexington, KY; and numerous nephews and nieces.
