Obituary

Rodney Michael made his appearance on February 16, 1959, giving his mother Mary Lue, a 10 pound bundle of joy.

He was very adventurous in his younger years enjoying life to the fullest. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1977. Welding was his chosen profession and he took pride in his ability as a professional pipe welder. Welding allowed him to work in lots of interesting places including the north rim of Alaska and the island of St. Croix.

Those of you that know Rodney knew that he struggled with alcohol addiction for several years. He and his family are thankful that for the last 21 years 6 months and 7 days of his natural life he was sober, overcoming the hold that addiction had on him. Rodney was active in Alcoholics Anonymous and helped many with their recovery efforts. He was also able to give up cigarettes for the last three years of his life.

Rodney came to know Jesus as his savior and just fell in love with Him. He lived for Him to the best of his ability, always striving to learn more about Jesus. He was instrumental in leading several people to Christ, his brother Scott being one of them.

Jesus, family, and his dogs were a priority for Rodney. He was a self proclaimed mommy's boy and would do just about anything for her. Rodney was known for having a big heart and was one of the most generous persons that most people will ever meet.

March 22, 2026, was the day Rodney looked forward to. That is the day Jesus chose to come and take him home.

Rodney is survived by his mother, Mary Lue Goodsell, sisters Cindy Au and Terry Lee (Monte Lee); stepsister Sherry Nance (Bobby Nance); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Rodney was predeceased by his stepfather Wilbur Goodsell; brothers Scott Epp and Ross Epp; stepbrothers Michael Epp, Rodney Goodsell, Rusty Goodsell, Randy Goodsell; stepsister Rhonda Payne; and, niece Ashley Au.
