Rodrigo Botello went to heaven on June 25, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 20, 1935 to Dolores and Lewis Botello in Castroville, Texas. He married Consuelo Rodriguez on April 27, 1955. They went on to have five children.
Rodrigo worked in the dry-cleaning business for many years while living in Michigan and Oklahoma. He enjoyed this profession and took pride in his work. He enjoyed listening to his favorite country singer, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty and Freddy Fender to name a few. He loved listening to his Mexican music especially the songs that featured the accordion. Everyone that would visit him would hear his music playing in his garage, car or home. His final days were filled with music playing in his room at all hours.
Rodrigo was a very outgoing person and made many friends through out his life. He enjoyed going out to people watch at his favorite McDonald's where he would talk to those around him. He cherished the times that he met his brothers for breakfast once a month where they would sit and drink coffee and talk. Rodrigo had a love for his family. He loved his children and was very proud of the people they became. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. They all were blessed to have him in their lives for many years. Even as his health was declining, he stayed positive and loving to all those that visited with him. He would smile, share a joke, and he would let everyone know that he loved them.
Rodrigo is survived by his wife of 65 years, Consuelo; his children Mary Botello, Rosalinda (Bob) Carlson, Mark (Lena) Botello, Martina (Gordon) Cocklin, Delores (Victor) Bernal; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
