Roger Dale Williams, 88, Tulsa resident, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was born Wednesday, July 25, 1934, to Florence (Brecht) Williams and Roger Milton Williams in Burrton, KS. Roger grew up in Strong City, Kansas where he graduated from high school. He joined the Army in April of 1957 and was stationed in Germany. After returning from overseas, he was honorably discharged from the Army in April of 1959. Roger was married to Vernie Lee Shirel on June 11, 1971. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church. Roger retired from Rockwell International as a systems analyst. Much of his adult life, along with his wife, he was devoted to the loving care and nurture of their daughter, Leanna, who was mentally and physically handicapped. He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Vernie Williams; daughter Leanna Denise Williams; sister JoAnne Carlson and sister Regina Wendte. Roger is survived by his son Tom Williams, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Granddaughter Reagan Williams, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Grandson Ryan Williams, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Sister G. Jeannette Mathies, Alma, Kansas.
