Roger Woodward January 13, 1958 - June 30, 2026

Roger Woodward, age 68, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away leaving behind countless friends whose lives were made better simply by knowing him. Born on January 13, 1958, in Kansas to Myron Woodward and Margie L. Woodward, Roger lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, loyalty, and a passion for all things mechanical.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and all of his immediate family members. While his family circle became smaller through the years, Roger built a community of friends who became family. To many, he was not just a friend but a trusted mentor, teacher, and dependable presence.

A master machinist and master mechanic, Roger dedicated his entire professional life to the trades he loved. His knowledge and craftsmanship earned him tremendous respect throughout the industry. He proudly shared that knowledge as a Machine Technician at Tulsa Community College, where he helped train and inspire future generations of machinists and mechanics.

Roger's passion extended far beyond his work. He was an avid drag racer, devoted NASCAR fan, and lifelong enthusiast of classic Ford automobiles. He spent countless hours collecting, restoring, and discussing cars, earning a reputation among friends as someone who knew more about Ford vehicles than just about anyone-except perhaps Henry Ford himself. Whether at a local car show, a swap meet searching for the perfect deal, or under the hood of a classic car, Roger was always in his element.

Some of his favorite traditions was watching the races at the Hallett Motor Racing Circuit during the annual Ford Shelby Meet. And he loved going to the Darryl Starbird Show and not just to look at the cars, but he helped John enter his cars many times in the competition, even though they weren't Fords. Roger just loved all types of classic cars. Roger had a lot of good times alongside Eddie Ray, Mike, John and family, creating memories and friendships that he cherished throughout the years. Roger IS THE DEFINITION OF BEST FRIEND. He also enjoyed working on computers and was always eager to help others solve problems, whether mechanical, technical, or personal.

Roger was known for his kindness, honesty, and willingness to help anyone in need. He never hesitated to lend a hand and never expected anything in return. Friends knew they could count on him, whether they needed advice, repair, or simply someone to talk to. He was the kind of person whose words could be trusted and whose friendship was genuine.

Those who knew Roger will forever remember his signature style-blue jeans, a blue button-up shirt, and a black hoodie-along with a cold Dr Pepper never far from reach. His friendly smile, practical wisdom, quick wit, and generous heart made him unforgettable.

Roger leaves behind a large extended family of friends, students, fellow racers, car enthusiasts, and colleagues who will deeply miss his presence. His legacy lives on through the countless people he helped, taught, encouraged, and inspired throughout his life.

Though Roger has taken his final lap, the memories he created and the lives he touched will continue down the road for generations to come.
