Roland Pete Knode was born on Oct. 6th, 1926 in Waterloo, Iowa. He and his family moved to Tulsa when he was 14. What that tells me is that Pete did a lot of growing up in the 1930s during the height of the worst depression that our country had ever seen. And just about the time that Pete "came of age" It was also the time that our country was plunged into war, World War II. Pete joined the armed services at the age of 15. He spent most of his time in Hawaii as a control tower operator. He was able to take one of the honor flights to see the World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. Something that he enjoyed very much.
He came back to Tulsa from the War, where he went back to High School at Will Rogers and finished getting his diploma. From there he put himself through the University of Tulsa. He spent most of his career in sales.
He met and married Miss Jane in 1961. Pete and Jane were married for 53 years. She was truly the love of his life.
