Dr. Roman Michael Lobodiak, DDS
June 2, 1954 - December 23, 2025


Roman Michael Lobodiak was born on June 2, 1954, in Jersey City, New Jersey, and passed away on December 23, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His Ukrainian parents, Dr. Michael Lobodiak, DVM, and Nadia (Mokry) Lobodiak, emigrated to the United States from West Germany ultimately settling in Mason City, Iowa, where they raised their two sons Roman and Nestor. There he became an Eagle Scout and attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Newman Catholic High School lettering in football, which explained his love for Oklahoma Sooner Football. He attended the University of Iowa where he attained an undergraduate degree in General Science, a Doctor of Dental Science degree, and completed a residency in Prosthodontics. Immediately following his residency he passionately served as an instructor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Roman moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1982, where he began his prosthetic dental practice. Throughout his 40+ year career he provided exceptional quality dental care to his patients, and generously shared his expert opinions with his fellow dental colleagues. Roman was highly respected in the Oklahoma dental community.


Roman was an avid fisherman, hunter and an excellent cook - frequently blending these passions to bring the people he loved together around an incredible shared meal. His adventures took him to Brazil, Mexico, Canada and other parts of the world. These adventures often included providing much needed dental care to underserved people in foreign countries and volunteering right here in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Neighbor For Neighbor. But Roman's biggest passion in life was his family. He enjoyed tinkering on projects with his boys, lounging in his chair with his beloved dogs, and having dance parties in the kitchen with his granddaughters and the love of his life, Vicki. In November 2025, Roman and Vicki celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They were inseparable and enjoyed walking their dogs, taking long car rides just for fun, cooking together, traveling the world, and just holding hands. Roman's lasting memory will live on forever through his many passions, lessons and conversations that he shared with all of us. Roman passed with a smile on his face, in a room filled with love, surrounded by his family and close friends.


Roman is preceded in death by his parents and his stepson Jody Gendron, and is survived by his wife Vicki; brother Nestor - wife Sherry and daughters Catherine and Suzanne; son Alexander - wife Valerie and their children Jackson and Penelope; and his son Samuel. He is also survived by his stepchildren: Michael Gendron - wife Brittany and their daughters Harper and Valor; Donnie Gendron - wife Amy and their children Rebecca, David and Ava; Jonnie Gendron - wife Desiree and their sons Ryan and Jake.
