Obituary

Romie Boilla, 98, of Tulsa, died Saturday, July 18, 2020 in Tulsa. He was born October 26, 1921 in Sharon, PA, the son of George and Florence Chrishon Boilla. He married Elihue McNiece in 1943 and she preceded him in death in 2010.

A World War II United States Army Air Forces veteran, Mr. Boilla worked many years for Cities Service Oil Company in Ponca City, Bartlesville and Tulsa. He retired as their Real Property Manager.

He was a founding member of the Park Plaza Church of Christ and a long-term member of the 10th and Rockford Church of Christ. He and his wife, Elihue, taught many people the gospel in weeknight Bible studies in their home. He loved people and was a greeter at the churches he attended, often being the first person visitors and members saw and spoke to when they entered the church building.

After his wife died in 2010, he moved to Town Village at 81st and Yale, a senior independent living facility, where he resided until his death. While there, he served as their Chief Ambassador with responsibilities that included greeting new residents and helping them acclimate to their new residence. He loved living at Town Village and often said, "He wouldn't want to live at any other place".

He is survived by 2 sons, Ron and his wife Cathy, of Southlake, TX and Craig and his wife Kathy, of Tulsa; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and some 20 nieces/nephews, and his special friends, Beverly and John Malloy.
