Ronald David Snow, 65, of Tulsa passed from this life on September 13, 2014 at 2:56 a.m. after a valiant battle with cancer. In the end, he was in his home with his family at his side.
Ron was born in Oklahoma City on June 18, 1949 to David and Marietta Snow. Before graduating from Del City High School, he enjoyed many memorable summers around the family farm in North Texas with siblings and cousins. He was married to his wife Debbie on September 17, 1971, and he received a Bachelor of Funeral Science from Central State University in 1975. Ron and Debbie relocated to Tulsa in 1976 where they raised their four children and remained through Ron's career in the funeral business. Ron was a member of Park Plaza Church of Christ where he was a small group leader.
In his vocation, Ron was highly respected and valued one whom others would seek out for advice. In his church, he had turns as a deacon and as a youth ministry teacher. He enjoyed several recent years participating in Bible Study Fellowship and ministering to the homeless. In earlier years, he spent time with his children, taking them camping, playing sports, and watching OU football. Later, he enjoyed having fun with his eight grandchildren, singing songs, playing his harmonica, performing magic tricks, and taking them out for donuts. By his gentle and compassionate spirit, and with a warm sense of humor, he brought calm, comfort and joy to those around him. He was a servant, a role model, a coach, a mentor and a friend.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Snow of Tulsa; son Brian (Suzy) Snow of Willis, Texas; daughter Laurie (Jeremy) Turner of Montgomery, Texas; son Aaron (Jennifer) Snow of Oklahoma City; son Matt (Tiffany) Snow of Spring Hill, Tennessee; grandchildren Sarah, Hannah, Levi, Sam, Julia, Joshua, Avery and Lily; mother Marietta Snow of Del City; brother Gary (Linda) Snow of Blanchard; sister Phonda Curl of Edmond; and sister Linda (Michael) Snodgrass of Del City.
By faith, Ron lived his life gladly in view of his heavenly "mansion over the hilltop," and the world is a better place for having been touched by this beloved husband, father, Grampa, son, brother and friend.
