Ronald Eugene Baucom, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 29, 1933, Ron graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1951 and joined the U. S. Coast Guard. He later attended Oklahoma State University and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Sue Baucom, his children Lisa Showalter (Jeff), and Doug Baucom (Jean). Grandchildren Amanda Evers (Josh), David Bennett, and Jill Schweikert (Chad). One great-grandson, Camden Evers whom he nicknamed Pooper and Thumper.

Ron was an outdoorsman who enjoyed traveling the country in his motorhome, making friends everywhere he went. He was an instrument rated pilot and enjoyed restoring airplanes.

Ron was an active member in the German-American Society, never missing the local and regional Oktoberfest celebrations and was always dapper in his lederhosen.

Ron was an accomplished amateur (ham) radio operator (W5FKD), a skill he continued to enjoy after his Coast Guard days.

He was a 32nd degree Mason.

Visitation will be Sunday January 29, 2017 from 4:00 -- 6:00 p.m. at Moore�s Southlawn Chapel. Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday January 30, 2017 at Asbury United Methodist Church. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
