Ronald Lester Cole was born on December 24, 1948 to J.C. (Bird) Cole and Gwendolyn Viola Johnson. He grew up in Taft, Oklahoma and attended school there from grade school through high school. In 1971, he met and married Shirley Samuels. From that union two sons were born, Ronald Lester Cole II and Marrico Wayne Cole. Ronald later married Linda Hodges in 1979 and their son, Devin Christopher Cole was born. Ronald was a former member of St. John Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents. Ronald leaves to cherish his memory and legacy, sons Ronald L. Cole II, Marrico W. Cole (Tasheika), Devin C. Cole, daughter, Vasheta Green, and many grandchildren. He also leaves behind, twelve siblings: Beverly Smith, Ardelia Sears, Candice West, Carolyn Haley, Jacquelyn, Tina, Willie Carter, Alfred Jennings, Claude, Howard, Darryl and David.
