Loyal son, husband, father, and grandfather, Ronald Glen Fite, died Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the age of 72, at home, surrounded by his adoring family.
Ron was born September 25, 1952, to Elvin and Bettie Fite, in Okmulgee, OK. After Okmulgee highschool he went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Business. During his time as the first manager of Stillwater's jumpin' little juke joint, Eskimo Joe's, he met a cute little bar made, Lauren Buttery who he would go on to marry and begin a life with in Tulsa, OK. There Ron began his very reputable career as the General Manager of Huttig Sash & Door. He served faithfully for many years at their home in church, Olivet Baptist.
Ron was well respected in his industry and among friends as a servant-hearted, funny, kind, generous, fun-loving, man of integrity. He loved to serve and took pride in his work, but his greatest pride was his son and friend, Nathan.
Over the years Ron loved taking Lauren and Nathan on vacations and never missed a year. They got to put their passions and expertise to work building their dream home together at Lake Tenkiller, where they spent many happy years hosting friends and family. His joy only continued to grow as Nate and wife, Emily, welcomed their four sons into the world, Beckett, Owen, Lucas, and Deacon Jack, making them the happiest grandparents. Ron, aka Pop, would spend the rest of his years boating, fishing, and going to piano recitals, little league games, and spring soccer games as the number one fan.
Although we mourn for the years we must wait to be reunited, after years of suffering with Parkinson's, we rejoice that Ron has left behind this old body and is now face to face with The Lord, in Heaven, thanks to the work of Christ on his behalf. We are not made for death, but life. And we celebrate the confidence we have in knowing that Ron put his faith in the One True God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
