Ronald Lee Wheaton was born May 16, 1940 in Modesto, California and passed from this earth September 6, 2026 at Saint Francis South Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Ruth Wheaton; Brothers, Bud, Gene, Donnie, Glen and Gary & Sisters, Maxine, Mona and Wanda and all of their spouses; also In-Laws, Ted and Jewel Bolinger, sisters in law, Carline, Evylene, Syble, Barbara and their spouses and brothers-in-law, T.D., Don and Cotton.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home, sisters in law, Beverly, Peggy and Mary and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronnie graduated from WIll Rogers High School in 1958. He attended the University of Tulsa and received his Bachelors of Science in Education in 1970. He started his teaching career later in the year of 1970. In 1973 he received his Masters of Teaching Arts from the University of Tulsa. He later received another Masters in Counseling.

Ronnie taught in the classroom for 3 years and spent the rest of his career as a student counselor and Dean of Students.

After retiring from Tulsa Public Schools in 1995 he went to work at the Golf Club of Oklahoma where he played golf several times a week,

Ronnie served in the Air Force Reserve from 1957 to 1961.

His hobbies were golf, fishing, golf, watching his nieces and nephews play sports and golf.

He loved going to Branson and went every year for several years with various family members. Other vacations that he enjoyed usually involved golf.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Ronald Lee Wheaton will be 2:00PM Friday, September 11, 2026 at the Moore Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel.
