Rosa Elizabeth Smith was born on October 19, 1927, in Mineral Wells, Texas, and passed away in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on July 30, 2025, at the age of 97.
Elizabeth grew up in Mineral Wells, Texas. She met Paul Smith, a US Army soldier attached to the Air Force, when he visited her church on a Sunday evening. They were married and moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, in 1956. After her children were in school, she got her license and became a realtor. Paul transferred with his company and the family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1970. She continued to work in real estate as a full-time closer.
Elizabeth was a devout and faithful Christian, who read and studied her Bible every day. She attended and served at Skelly Drive Baptist Church in South Tulsa for many years, and was a very active member of the congregation.
Elizabeth was passionate about her ancestry and spent hours filling volumes with family information, stories, and history. While she could travel, she visited and photographed locations from the past, and researched public records.
She loved spending time with her family and sharing birthdays and holidays. Christmas was her favorite, and she particularly treasured having all five generations together to celebrate.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Willie Paul Smith, her two children, Paula Skidmore (Steve) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Lance Smith (Barbara), of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Randall Skidmore, Elizabeth Brown, Amber Campbell, and David Upky; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and her two nieces, Debra Smith and Patti Kerby (Mike) of Texas.
She was predeceased by her parents, Harvey and Mary Elizabeth Smith, her brother and sister-in-law, Keevan and Faye Smith, and her great-grandsons baby Dyllon and Jared.
She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed
