Early Sunday morning, August 2nd, Rozella Mae Allen, beloved mother, grandmother, mimi, and friend, passed away at the age of 96.
Rozella was born on July 12, 1924 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Thelma King Woods. She married Martin Patrick Norwood and together they raised four children: Charles, Bill, Barbara, and Danny. Rozella was a hard worker, taking on various jobs to ensure the family had food on the table. Her husband Martin Patrick Norwood passed away in a car accident in Dallas. Rozella later re-married William H. Allen of Tulsa. Rozella loved to stay busy, even into her 90's. In her younger days, she participated in square dancing club. She was active in her church and assisted with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, playing cards, shopping for a good pair of shoes or handbag and her weekly appointment with her "beauty operator" to get her hair done. She spent the last sixteen years of her life enjoying and watching her "girls and boys" as she called them... her great-grandchildren: Jax, Delaney, Baylor and Elijiah. Rozella will be remembered for her strength, resilience, fierce independence, compassion towards others, wit, and unforgettable laughter.
Rozella is survived by two sons, Bill Norwood and Charles Norwood; one step-daughter, Rhonda; nine grandchildren, Misty, Brandi, Ryan, Marsha, Tony, Heather, Karrie, Patrick & Tammy and a host of great-grandchildren.
Rozella was proceeded in death by her parents; husbands, Martin Patrick Norwood and William Allen; children, Danny and Barbara; step-children, William and Loretta; granddaughter, Rachel, and two great-grandchildren, Lily and Ethan.
Viewing will be at Moore's Rosewood Chapel Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 8 to 5.
Service will be Wednesday, August 5, at 10:00 AM Moore's Rosewood Chapel.
