Obituary

Ruby Jewel Knorr-Myers died peacefully among loved ones on the morning of Wednesday, March 25th in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at age 91. She was born on April 4th, 1923 in Selt, Missouri, one of eleven children of Zona Francis (nee Evans) and Harvey Earnest Stark. On January 18th, 1946 she married Alfred Oscar Knorr of Springfield, Missouri. They settled in Colorado, and in 1952 they adopted their daughter Cheryl Renee. In 1958 the family moved to Miami, Oklahoma to help her sister Opal with her restaurant called "Opal's Café." They later opened their own restaurant, "The Hamburger Inn." The Knorrs were active members of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church for many years.
In 1977 Ruby and Al moved to Canyon, Texas to be close to their grandchildren. Sadly, Al passed away in 1981, and she eventually returned to Miami. In 1991 she married Densil Myers, who died in 2002. Ruby, whose favorite title was Grandma, was known for caring about others first and making sure everyone had a full plate, and a slice of one of her delicious pies. At age 86 she was diagnosed with dementia which eventually took away her ability to walk and communicate. Despite this she maintained a hearty sense of humor, and became lovingly known by her wonderful and supportive caregivers as "Feisty Britches." She always looked for a hand to hold, and a neck to hug, as she sang her favorite songs with a smile.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Goldie Carr, Juanita Allen, and Leona Webb; and her brothers Otto, Riley, and Noel Stark. She is survived by her sister Opal Cantrell, her sister Alma Jean Koski; her brothers Wayne and Harold Stark; her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Charles Bailey; her grandchildren Jennifer Moody, Zach Moody, Amy Bell and Rebecca Bailey; her great-grandchildren Samuel, Jezreel, Daniel and Ezekiel Bell; and her great great-grandson Lane Bell. Service will be 10 A.M., Friday, March 27, 2015 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at www.moorefuneral.com
