Obituary

Rudine McNeill passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 in Tulsa, OK. She was born February 20, 1927 in Frederick, OK and graduated in 1945 from high school in Borger, Texas. After graduation, she decided to forgo an interest in being an aviatrix and worked in a local pharmacy in Amarillo, TX, before moving to Houston, TX and eventually moving to Tulsa in 1963.
After moving to Tulsa, Rudine worked for many years in the correspondence department for Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association, and she was a founding member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, square dancing, sewing, reading, and traveling, and was dedicated to her family.
Rudine was affectionately known as both Mom and Mimi. She was the heart that held our family together. After we all moved away, she made sure that we remained a family. There were beautiful summers of laughter, golf, card games, fried chicken and BBQ dinners that were complimented by intellectual and hilarious conversations at the McNeill compound. She taught us to keep our perspective when tested and remain strong and determined. Her wisdom and her ability to weather storms will be forever remembered. Family is a bond that endures forever.
Rudine is survived by her daughter Fran Church and husband Tim of Kirkland, WA, and her son Glenn McNeill of Carrollton, TX; her grandchildren Wendy Lindsey and husband Steve of Tomball, TX, Ellen Church of San Diego, CA, and Matt Church of Bellingham, WA; and her great-grandchildren Eden Cannon, Natalya Lindsey and Alexander Lindsey of Tomball, TX, and Ellie Church of Bellingham, WA. Rudine was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Edna Manning, her husband Willis Frank McNeill and her son Bruce McNeill.
A memorial service will be held at Moore's Eastlawn Chapel on Thursday November 5, 2020 at 2pm.
