Rupert Oral "Stonie" Stonecipher
November 6, 1931 � February 28, 2015
On November 6, 1931, Rupert Oral "Stonie" Stonecipher was born in Pauls Vally, OK. His parents were Rupert Oral and Vivian Wallace Stonecipher. "Stonie" passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 at Clarehouse in Tulsa, OK.

At the age of three he moved with his family to Wirt, OK, where he attended Dundee School until his graduation in 1949. He attended East Central State University for a semester before enlisted in the US Navy during the Korean conflict and was stationed in San Diego and Long Beach, CA until his last year in the service. He was then deployed to the USS Calvert during the "Passage to Freedom," moving refugees from North Korea to South Korea to escape Communism. He was honorably discharged in December 1954.

After leaving the service, he returned to East Central and received a Bachelor's of Science in Business in 1958. While in college he worked at the Ada newspaper.

Upon graduation from college he moved to Wichita, KA went to work for the Late Automobile Agency selling wholesale parts, retail car sales, and held the position of fleet manager. He as then transferred to Vally Chevrolet in Roswell, NM, as a Sales Manager. In 1972 he was transferred to San Angelo, TX, to become Sales Manager of Mustang Chevrolet. Again in 1974, he moved to Richardson, TX, to become of a new agency, Late Chevrolet. He left the Late organization after 17 years of employment. He pursued other opportunities until his retirement in 1994 due to his health.

"Stonie" was very active in civic affairs serving as President of Presidents Club of the Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of the Sertoma Club, and director of the Boys Club and was nominated outstanding Young Man of the Wichita Cosmopolitan Club in 1972. He was also active in his children's activities such as Little League baseball and football, Motorcross, and many other interests and endeavors pertaining to their interests and enjoyment.

On September 17, 1953 he and Peggy Jones were married in Fox, OK. He was survived by Peggy, his sons, Ross Allen and his wife Beverly of Roswell, GA, and James Kevin of Tulsa. His grandchildren Brett Stonecipher and his wife Haley G. of Richmond, VA, granddaughter Haley B. of Columbia, SC. Caleb Riley Stonecipher of Ft. Smith, AR, a special nephew, Terry Propst of Dallas, TX and his princess little dog, Fancy.

"Stonie" accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of 33. He was a member of Bristow, OK, First Baptist Church and attended the Woodland Terrace Church. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather and a loyal friend. He was a very generous man who believed it was his mission to help his fellow man. He never met a stranger, was a complete optimist always believing the best was yet to come.

He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Viva Jean Stonecipher.
